I took out Sky Broadband one week ago so not sure if this is the issue or not but on the hub page 192.168.0.1 it doesn't seem to be displaying the download or upload speeds at all if I'm looking in the correct area.
It says;
Broadband Link Downstream Upstream Connection Speed 0 kbps 0 kbps
Is anyone able to advise if I'm doing something wrong? I am getting an internet connection so I know the speed must be something but not sure if I'm making a mistake somewhere.
Thanks for any help.

Posted by a Superuser, not a Sky employee. Find out moreAs @Highlinder indicates, an ISP router will display download and upload speeds for broadband services arriving into a property over copper wire (ADSL, FTTC and G.fast) because for those technologies it's the router which negotiates the data rate of the connection. This isn't the case with FTTP (optical cable all the way) as the Openreach ONT handles the connection itself and there's no notion of a 'negotiated' speed based on line characteristics.

Thanks to you both I hadn't appreciated the difference with it being fibre.

Sorry, but I don't share same appreciation as what others might.
For me, I purchased Gigafast 900mb.
I have minimum download speed of 600mb.
But without Sky informing its customers of the actual speed they are getting, how the hell are we supposed to know if we are even getting the minimum?? I have been to Sky's speed test page on both mobile app and the website numerous times in the past in the past, and I can also clarify that they are still not providing this information right now, same as others in this thread have mentioned, which is ridiculous!
It also states on the same page that we are not to use other non-Sky speed checkers to check our speeds as only Skys will be precise.
My internet was down for 3 days, I did a speed check and the page said "All looks good" as if there was no problem. I called them all three of those days and they ran a test and got it working again, but it was sluggish. So, Sky (and this is on a LOT of separate calls over many months) advised they would do a speed check, and they would get back to me after a week. I would never hear back from them. I would have to call again, always leaving a few days to a week after the date they said they would call so I am not calling the exact same day.
Until they I was furious on the phone, which then *drum roll* they asked me to wait 1 month and they would do a check every day on my line to check the average, and then they would get back to me. To no surprise, they never got back to me after that month. In fact, that was around 6 months ago, I am still waiting for that call.
My speed has NEVER been higher than the minimum if tested on a third-party site (and yes, I understand and accept it may not be 100% precise, but not having over 600mb minimum when the advertised is 900mb is a pretty damn steep difference, do you not agree?).
My internet speed has never been anywhere near what was advertised based purely on performance. And the Sky team never seem to find the problem, nor contact you back when promised. My conclusion is that by offering a minimum download speed, but not offer the customer their true download speed, is actually a scam.

Ofcom and the ASA traditionally take a dim view of actual scams. Perhaps better described as a questionable business practice deployed across the entire ISP industry.
It's also worth noting that an ISP gains nothing from delivering lower speed when they are paying for a specific wholesale tariff.

speedtest.net
broadbandspeedchecker.co.uk
fast.com
All which give similar speed outcomes.
Tested on both LAN (8.1) and wireless, on MacBook Pro M3 Max 2023 16" Developer Edition (additional ram and HD) and Windows laptop (unsure of details at this minute) and mobile Apple iPhone 12 Pro.

Maybe that's the case. But regardless, it doesn't change the fact that my speed hasn't improved, and the Sky team seem to have done extremely minimal to rectify the problem after at least 15 calls.
So in my opinion (and this is my opinion only), my comment still stands.
