When can I expect my router?

We're due to switch over to Sky Broadband on 9th July and the hub hasn't even been despatched as of this morning. If it's sent tomorrow, and based on long experience living of couriers in our poorly served area, it wouldn't get here until late next week given there's a weekend in between, and potentially leaving us without internet for some days. Is this normal service? There seem to be lots of other posts about tardy hub deliveries which worries me.

The hub is sent out to be with you up until the day before activation

Sorry but that doesnt answer my question. If the hub somehow got shipped today, I am confident it wont arrive here by 9th July, perhaps on 10th, most likely 11th/12th. Couriers find so many excuses not to come to our remote area, often just a "no show" or "we couldnt find you".

 

What happens if we dont get the hub in time for activation? Who do i contact? How do i contact them? Mobilr is hopeless where i live, so we rely on broadband for comms?

Sky cannot predict if you live in an area of 'poor courier' service. By default the hub is dispatched approx 3-4 days before your activation day and is sent via Royal Mail Tracked 24 or 48 so it should arrive with you in 1-2 days providing you get a daily postal service. There is nothing you can do to change this unfortunately. 

 

If the hub does not arrive for your activation day, but it has been dispatched and is on the way with RM then there would be little point in contacting Sky because they would just tell you to wait for RM to deliver it. 

If the hub has not been dispatched within 2 days of your activation date then I would recommend calling Sky to check why it hasnt been dispatched.
