What’s this box

I have a bt broadband box in the house I've just moved into and plugged it in connected up etc but had a red light on no signal etc so arranged an engineer to come but since I have found a telephone socket my internet has started working would this affect speed being in a telephone socket rather than the little fibre box

@Marv861 That box is the Fibre Modem called an ONT, the two screws above allows the box to slot down an stay up on the wall, the white cable with the Green connector on it is the Fibre and if it gets dammaged, unplugged etc, RED LOS Loss Of Service, bad light to have no light on the Fibre and will possibly requir ann OR Openreach Engineer, THAT is the connection for you, the Telephone socket is TOAST and NON functional at all!

Does look like your phone socket is live, hard to see but looking like you have the 4 green lights on the sky Hub, so unless the Fibre Modem is not connected up at present, then copper is working speed will depend on the service supplied over the copper. use the BTW link and fill in the address section, number off home + Postcode will tell you what to expect!
