Very High Upload Latency - FTTP 300mb

After having FTTP installed at my property, I was pleased to see that I was getting the full speeds I was paying for throughout the house. However, as soon as my partner started a Microsoft Teams call for work, the connection began to lag and buffer despite the high download speeds.

I ran a speed test (results shown below) and was surprised to see that the upload latency was extremely high. After contacting Sky, they advised that the issue appears to be with Openreach rather than the router, and they have arranged for an engineer to investigate.

My question is: does this sound more like a fault with the fibre line itself, or could the router (Sky Max Hub WiFi 6) be the cause?

They look like perfectly normal figures when testing via wifi and the Ookla Speedtest App, can you test via an ethernet connected device? Is it a laptop that your partner is using? Is there a works VPN in use?

Re: Very High Upload Latency - FTTP 300mb

The laptop is using a work VPN, but I’ve also tested it without the VPN and the issue remains exactly the same.

What’s also noticeable is that websites seem to “hang” for a second before they start loading, and this happens across all devices in the house, iPhones, iPads, laptops, everything. On my previous property, which also had FTTP (albeit with a different provider, not Sky), this simply wasn’t an issue. Websites loaded instantly, Teams calls were fine on the VPN, and I never experienced any of the lag or buffering I’m seeing now.

For comparison, I’ve included a speed test from my previous address below. The difference in upload responsiveness is particularly striking and seems to highlight where the problem may lie.
150mb Down - 30mb Up

Looks like I'm experiencing "Bufferbloat" which is massive affecting Teams calls and general browsing. What can I do to solve this?

Did you ever get this resolved. I just moved to full fibre 300 from virgin and get hogh loaded latency and jitter scores. Also apps on phone sometimes sluggish and sky stream menu navigation often sluggish.
