I've been with sky broadband now for 6 months, I've been trying to get a WiFi signal in other rooms rather than just the router room now for four months, can't get through to a human via the phone menus, finally got through last week- but unfortunately the lady did not have command of English so instead of sending me a WiFi booster she booked an engineer to call- which I don't need, anyway today I waited in, nothing, went to my door and a calling card said sorry we missed you, tried calling your mobile- absolute nonsense, no one has called my mobile, I have been in all day waiting, now called sky and they want to charge me monthly for sky boost! I'm not paying more for a signal that is not reaching into the next room, it's a tiny house- walls maybe thick but not that thick- one room! I've had enough of wasting my life on calls to useless people on phones & nothing gets done, I'm a new sky mobile user as well, but I'm now cancelling the lot

Yes, that's the current business model. Sky supplies boosters 'free' to Broadband Boost and Max subscribers, and to fix Q television issues, but not otherwise: this isn't dissimilar to other ISPs (BT, for example, charge extra for their 'Halo' product)

It is disssimilar when I have a product that does not work correctly and no one gives a hoot.....................or wants to charge more money for a promised signal and sky engineers are lying about 'callling my mobile--'Im back off to rejoin BT broadband-there useless as well but someone does pick the phone up

You pay for the line into your property & the only service guarantee is when your using an ethernet cable, not WiFi. Broadband boost is Sky's WiFi addon that then attempts to guarantee WiFi in every room by giving you free boosters, they are not obliged to do this if you do not pay for the addon. Every ISP is the same in this regard, including BT who charge extra for their whole home/halo/disks package.

Sky Broadband and Sky Talk
~ To cancel totally you'll have to contact Sky and give the required notice of 14 days, but as you are still in the initial 18 months deal Sky could impose cancellation charges. This link may help https://www.sky.com/help/articles/cancel-sky-broadband

Unfortunately signal is not 'promised': the wording of the 'Wall to Wall Wifi Guarantee' is very carefully chosen, and does not actually promise anything other than a month refund on broadband subscription.
