Urgent: Fiber Installation Issues - No Updates or Communication (Dublin)
I recently signed up for Sky Broadband in Dublin after many years with Virgin Media.
An engineer came to my property last Tuesday (April 21st) to install fiber while I was away, but it seems there were difficulties pulling the cable through. I only found out there was a problem because I rang Sky today — I was never contacted or notified of the issue directly. I was also expecting another engineer visit last Friday, but no one turned up.
After getting throught he hotline today, I was told there was a blockage, but no clear explanation was given, and I’m worried because my Virgin Media service is due to end in a week.
I understand that OpenEir is responsible for the infrastructure in Ireland — could someone tell me what the usual time frame is to resolve an installation issue like this? Are we typically talking days, weeks, or even months?
I am getting increasingly concerned because I can't be without internet, and if there is a risk of a long delay, I may have to cancel my Sky order and stay with Virgin Media.
Thanks very much for any guidance you can provide.

@Jean-Charles You need to get that information ideally from Sky ROI, it's always the gamble, safest thing to do is wait until the new Fibre is fully up and running before cancelling the other.
