Unstable connection

The connection is generally poor and has been since I had sky broadband installed, and I often need to reset the router multiple times a day. Today my smart TV isn't able to stream anything from any platform as it says the Internet connection is unstable. I live in a very small open plan house, and there are no walls even between the router and the TV.
