Unable to get Full Fibre Deals

My Gigaclear deal is coming to an end so I'm trying to find better deals yet everywhere I go I'm told I do not have access to Full Fibre even though I've been running a Gigaclear deal at 500MPS for three years. BT, Sky, EE and all the major comparison sites say I can only get 60mps. Is this Gigaclear not updating the wider comunity that they have installed full fibre?

@Devox Check the sky Fibre checker below, and NOT Gigaclear! If you want full fibre speed and that Altnet is all that is available to you then you have to stay with them, you have NO othere choice!

No, thats the whole problem, everyone else says my max speed is 67Mps as i sit here currently running 551mps. Skys 900 deal is cheaper than my current 500 deal from Gigaclear.

@Devox If Gigaclear is the ONLY fibre for you then that is IT! Take sky on the lower speed and lower price!

Re: Unable to get Full Fibre Deals

Why would Gigaclear be my only option? All the infrastructure is in place and, as far as I aware, nobody has a monopoly on the the actual hardware/cabelling that would preclude someone from going to a different provider. If this is the case then I'd have to complain to an ombudsman for monopolistic practices by Gigaclear. I've contacted them for an answer as this seems incredibly sketchy.

@Devox Just do that then, Gigaclear is your ONLY choice on THERE fibre, like it or NOT!

Re: Unable to get Full Fibre Deals

@Devox  As previously stated Gigaclear is an Altnet. They will have installed their own infrastructure from the Exchange to provide broadband to your property. They have no obligation to share that infrastructure with any other ISP. In that regard they are no different to Virgin Media, who also restrict access to their infrastructure.

As @JimM1 @has already told you, until other companies stump up the not inconsiderable cost of installing their own infrastructure, it seems your options are limited to what you've already got, satellite broadband or 4g/5g .

Sky Q, 2 mini boxes, booster and full fibre gigafast. Good WiFi coverage throughout a 4-bedroom house!

@Sharcuk Altnet's have a tendency to not go down the Exchange route or what is Formally know as that housing for equipment!

Not at all: the geographically limited Gigaclear optical distribution is their own private property paid for by their investors and installed by their contractors, which by definition gives them complete control of its use.  Gigaclear has a small number of client providers but does not currently have any major ISPs with carriage arrangements on their fibre, or any obligation to seek them.

It's the national Openreach network that is available for commercial use by any ISP which meets the relevant terms and conditions because that has its heritage in the state-owned and funded copper phone system which existed for many decades up until British Telecom privatisation in the 1980s, when legally binding and perpetual open access was one of the conditions paving the way to the share offer (see electricity, gas and rail privatisation for analogous arrangements)
