Thick walls requiring mesh/routers etc

Hello and please excuse a non techy question (please be kind and answer in basic speak 🙂

So we have the sky router in one room and between that and the kitchen are 3 properly thick walls in an old house. We have just installed Cat 6 from the router into that room.

Wifi is shocking as we are at the end of the cable away fromt he main boc.

At the mo our Sky Q box is plugged directly into the sky dish, and connectect wirelessly as it is in the room next to the router one.

So, my questions are:

Do I need another router in the 'bad' room with the cat 6 cable?

Would Mesh work better? (it would be hidden in a kitchen cupboard)

Do I have to plug my mini box into the tell as I do now, or will it work wirelessley

Hi @RCW1

Your best option would be to get a Sky booster and connect it to the cable you have run. This will boost your signal in that area and make it seamless as it'll copy the same WiFi Name & Password as your router.

This bit I do not understand? Sky Q mini boxes work by connecting to your main Sky Q box by ethernet or WiFi so you can use either. However you still need to physically connect to your TV via HDMI if thats what your asking.
