TV connection issues

My sky TV is struggling to locate and connect to my sky broadband. My ONT box is upstairs in a spare room, and TV down in main living room. This has always been a bit of a problem. I have an old black ONT box next to my TV down stairs in the living room and wondering if possible to get BT to connect this and allow my TV TO connect using this network input?
