I was asked to contact Sky, because there was a problem with my broadband switch order. Turned out the history of this rural property causes brainache within OpenReach, and they have a tendency to cancel orders placed on this address. This despite the fact that the order was placed and an OpenReach engineer turned up on the offchance to check the poles, and the switch it literally just a change of boardband hub.
It took me over an hour to get the phone robot to understand that I need to "contact them". The operator sorted it out, and advised me to wait 24 hours, then "just phone in on this direct dial number, and they'd re-raise the order".
Trouble is, it isn't a direct dial number - it redirects to the voice robot. I can't remember how I got past the robot last time. It understands nothing at all subtle and prevents customers from talking to human beings. What's my next move?
