'Swapping' Broadband lines

My father is now quite elderly and I have a Power of Attorney to act on his behalf. He has two phone lines to his house, both through BT.  One of the phone lines was historically a fax line that is no longer needed.  However, it is this line that the Sky Broadband comes down.  We would like to know if it is possible to swap the broadband from the old fax line to his main residential line?

@Jono15 Question is why, does it cause you a problem, a line is a line no matter what!

I suspect that's not possible without an unpleasant (and potentially risky) bodge such as a 'Home Move' at the same address.

Except the Phone Line Only does not have the broadband service attached to it, and I suspect they don't want to lose the phone number?

Using the fax line number instead may mean updating a whole host of contacts.

Like you I'm a customer here, Sky Employees are clearly identified as such.

Re: 'Swapping' Broadband lines

As indicated, my Father is elderly and all his freinds and family call him on the other line. A change of contact number would be difficult for him to handle

@Jono15 unfortunately there is no simple mechanism to achieve the result you want and as @TimmyBGood hints at work rounds often go wrong.

Re: 'Swapping' Broadband lines

@Jono15 What is the chance that the home is going to have FF Full Fibre supplied by OR Openreach in the near distant future, or is it already available currently at the address. Have a look on the BTW and OR Fibre links below just use the address and postcode options!

Thinking this may be the way to go, have sky take over at this point, get the number assigned in the change and then dump the other OR line at that time! The whole issue is fraught with danger on the dual copper lines currently, and personally would not advise messing with it at all! Can see the whole thing going pear shaped!
