Still no Fibre

I signed up for Fibre Broadband on the 28th August 2024 and still 2 and half months later we have still not been connected to Fibre. There was a blockage in the bank opposite me which Openreach have investigated and then requested a permission for works. We finally got the permission for works after a long battle and our local MP being involved and this was passed onto Openreach. Our connection has  now been moved to the 10th February 2025 which is absolutely ridiculous.  I insisted that that the old copper version was connected and finally that's been done but we still are waiting for the Fibre to be connected. The disappointment now is the Lady Jackie at Sky promised to see this to the end and promised to update us on the 5th of November. Unfortunately that did not happen and now know contact from Sky. 49 days now of compensation that will need to be paid in line with the ofcom ruling its crazy and still have to wait until February next year. Stuck and don't know what to do.

@SueBrace  while longer than most your delay is not that unusual as running new fibre infrastructure to many 10s of thousand addresses weekly a few inevitably hit snags. That you got a temporary copper connection is quite a result as that is incredibly rare, the invovement of an MP might have been a factor.

You will be due compensation as explained here Customer Auto-Compensation | Sky Help | Sky.com My own fibre  install was delayed and generated enough compensation to pay the first 6 months of the new service. Sorry but these things happen.

Re: Still no Fibre

The problem of fitting new cables to the area is rubbish. All my neighbour have fibre. There is a blockage in the bank where the mud has caved in and it needs some support fitted in. My boyfriend works in the building trade and he said its a max 2 hour job to fix it. Absolutely crazy and very poor services. Also sky want to charge double for the copper broadband. Sky are really poor at customer care.

Re: Still no Fibre

I'm not interested in sky glass so don't understand why this has been sent to me. My broadband needs to be sorted first.
