Speed not what I expected

Speed not fast enough never getting past 600mb but it's one 1g internet I am paying for I understand odd time might be around 600 but every check never gets past 600 odd? So I am paying extra for like 150mb ?

600Mbs over WiFi from a 900Mbs optical connection would be entirely as expected.
