Speed Test results WiFi

Current WiFi download speed with nothing streaming:

1.01 Mb/s.... Upload 0.44 Mb/s.

Absolute garbage. Almost off the scale....at the wrong end.

It took multiple attempts to get even that as signal kept dropping. Service worse than ever.

Sky's claims of Super broadband speeds etc etc are pure fantasy, geared to snare new users.

The so-called guaranteed minimum speeds are only achieved by plugging directly into the Sky LAN by cable as WiFi can't even reach that.

I have had to resort to EE Mobile Broadband dongle many times.

Time to invest in your existing customers Sky instead of just grabbing new ones with wild claims.

The guaranteed minimum speeds have always been to the hub, not even over ethernet to a connected device. That's exactly the same as every other ISP as wifi has far too many variables. This will never change.

@Baldfella1 you can get well over 1Gb/s over WiFi with the correct kit where the signal is not bring blocked. WiFi speeds are determined by the layout of your home and how it is built. Many homes need more than a single Sky hub to get usable WiFi in every room. Poor WiFi coverage is the most common issue in this forumand just about every ISP support forum. Older British homes with solid internal walls are a particukar problem. 

My own solution was to buy a 3 unit cheap whole home WiFi mesh system which gives me 500Mb/s in my main living area dropping to 100Mb/s in the most distant bedroom on the thitd level. Alternatively you could pay Sky for their WiFi Max bundle whichgets you up to 3 extenders should they be required.
