In case you’re not already aware you aren’t addressing Sky’s Customer Service Team here. This is a customer helps customer forum.

This link explains the process if you’re eligible for Sky Broadband Basics.

The Sky account holder needs to be claiming Universal Credit or Pension Credit (and from 07/12/22 apparently also includes Income Support, Income based Jobseekers Allowance or Income based Employment Support Allowance). These are the only qualifying benefits so Sky would require the relevant NI number so they can check. It is only available to customers who already have Sky Broadband. If you are eligible you’ll need to call Sky to join.

Re: Social tarriff

Should be eligible but they won't reconnect me because of an outstanding balance

That appears to be quite understandable. Once you have paid what you owe and (presumably) your services are reinstated call them again.

Re: Social tarriff

Unable to do so until the 15th which I did explain to them. I have no funds available until then either and they still won't even set up a new tariff

@Lippy666

I wouldn't expect them to. You haven't paid your bill on time. Before Sky reinstate your services you will have to pay what you owe and also set up a new continuous payment method. If your payment is two or more weeks overdue you will also have to pay the next bill as well. If you allow your arrears to remain for 56 days Sky may terminate your account.

[Depending on your previous payment history you may be able to pay all but £25 which will then be added to your next bill, although this does NOT apply for a Sky Mobile restriction].

If you can’t pay it all in one go you can pay what you want, when you want, but until the bill is paid off in full Sky will not reinstate your services. Sky don't allow payment plans on overdue live accounts, nor will they consider promises to pay.

Once your payment has cleared and is in Sky’s account your services should be reinstated, but be aware this may not be instant especially at a weekend as the banks are closed.

Any attempt to call Sky will result in you being prompted to pay first.

Re: Social tarriff

Been in hospital since end of Nov due to personal reasons. Nobody has been able to help me keep on top of bills.

As stated, once you've sorted your finances and paid what you owe to Sky then your services will be restored. After that apply again for the social tariff. Sky don't do promises to pay at all, let alone another 3 weeks away.
