Ok so I kinda don't know what I've done 🤦♀️
renewed my sky sub and Sky have managed to convince me that I should have their broadband/talk/tv/glass offer. I am currently with bt for my landline and broadband. I've received an email from bt (generic we're sorry to see you go). But I have no idea if my bt account is shut down completely or if I still have to have a landline with bt?. All I can remember from todays call (with sky) is that they asked me for my home number. I've now received an email stating that my broadband and talk has been confirmed. So do I still need a landline? Or is all of that redundant as I'll be getting sky broadband and talk?. Sorry it's been a long day

As @cookiemonsteruk indicates, the 'landline' is the Openreach data bearer cable (either copper or optical) which gets an internet connection to the address: this also delivers a voice call service over IP.
Your BT billing will cease, and the monthly subscription to Sky covers 'line rental', broadband and PAYG voice calling.
