Slow wifi

My new WiFi seems to have a delay on everything. Websites etc on phones are taking a long time to load. I keep losing connection on a playstation connected via lan cable. There is a roughly 10 to 15 second delay when somebody presses my ring doorbell to when the chime alert goes off, by wich time the person thinks im not home and has left. My previous wifi with virgin didnt have a delay at all. I have restarted the router but this hasn't helped at all. Please advise.

The PS5 being connected via ethernet certainly shouldn't be losing connection, is this directly to the Sky Max(?) Hub or via switches or powerlines perhaps?

Turn off the Sky Broadband Shield (or down to 18 at most) first off.

Run the following (can also be done on the MySky App):-

To check on local outages.
https://www.sky.com/servicechecker

To run the local checker.
https://www.sky.com/help/articles/broadband-diagnostic-start (do run all tests)

Re: Slow wifi

The playstation is plugged directly into the hub. A speed checker on it says im getting 7 meg speed when the sky speed checker says im getting 900 odd. I have tried 2 different cables so its not that. The delay on everything is the most annoying thing. 15 seconds delay in the doorbell chime alert going off from when I press the doorbell. It's no more than 20 feet from the hub.

Maybe one issue at a time?

Even when plugged in, the PS5 sometimes remembers your old Wi-Fi network and defaults to it instead of the physical wire.

I don't have a PS5 but I believe it's:- Settings > Network > Settings > Set Up Internet Connection

Hover over your connection and press the Options button (the three lines on your controller).

Ensure it is explicitly set to Wired LAN rather than Wi-Fi.

If Wi-Fi is still saved, select it and choose Forget to force the console onto the cable
