Slow file transfers over wifi

Hi all

I have SR203 sky router.  Whenever I transfer large files from my PC to my laptop over wifi, the transfer speed is always around 10MB/s and it takes a huge amount of time to send the file across.  If I connect an ethernet cable, the same file speed is around 100 MB/s,

Is there something wrong with my router?  Surely, the wifi speed should not be that slow?  There is good wifi signal and both computers are close to the router with no thick walls etc.

Any advice would be appreciated.
