Slow broadband

We upgraded to sky max broadband last month and have installed the router on Wednesday (11th) but I'm not getting a signal upstairs. We live in an old garnet style house and have always had a problem with signal strength. We have been guaranteed a signal strength of 63mghz but at the minute it's at 25. Is there any way to boost the signal strength, we've tried a Wi-Fi booster but it's not connecting to the router. We're upgrading to sky Q in a week but I don't think some of the boxes are going to connect with the poor signal strength.

Hi @Rosemary4

The speed Sky guaranteed is only via ethernet, not WiFi. So if your testing your speed over WiFi and getting 25mbps thats not awful. If you want to check your actual line speed on a device connected via ethernet.

As for your range issue, if you have Sky Broadband Boost or Sky WiFi max then you can claim free boosters from them to solve the issue. If not I would wait until your Sky Q install as the engineer is obliged to provide boosters to ensure all Q minis can connect properly. Once the minis are connected they will provide you with increased WiFi coverage.
