Sky stream doesn;t get IP address when connected to Sky Max hub using a LAN cable

When I connect my sky stream puck to teh Sky Max hub via a LAN cable and reset the network connection on the hub, it fails to get an IP address and doesn;t connect.

Is there a known issue with the wired LAN ports on the Sky Max?

What ethernet cable are you using? It needs to be Cat5e or above with all 4 pairs wired. Often free or cheap ethernet cables will only be wired for 2 and run at 100mbps rather than 1000mbps. These types of cables often dont play nice with the Sky hub.

Thanks James.

I swapped to a validated cat 5 cable and I had the same issue.

The 2 network lights were flashing on the Sky Stream puck so I went for a cup of tea, and when I returned, it had resolved itself.  So it looks like it was just a really slow DHCP process.
