Sky or BT 500mbps

Currently with BT on 500mbps and happy with it but price is high.

I am looking at the Sky Broadband 500mbps deal under Black Friday.

Anyone any views between the two ? Is Sky as fast and reliable as BT?

@jasonuk1975 both Sky and BT are normally reselling the same Openreach connection. There are differencesxin the equipment each provides with perhaps an edge to EE/BT on the WiFi performance.

@Chrisee Would agree with that, but if BT move you over to EE on the EE Smarthub+ the Feb2025 FW update they did has turned that once reasonable hub to a toaster at times! Staying on the BT Smarthub2 is the way with some reduced features!

@Chrisee What router is she using, the BT Smarthub2 although EE have had it FW updated to kind off work with there system is not too bad, everyone raved about that, used one after EE did that back in April, boy do they sure know how to mess with a hub, 10-10 before, and 2-10 after!

Think they upgraded to EE @JimM1  a few weeks back but not certain.

@jasonuk1975 if your WiFi is currently decent and you live in an older property I would not swap as the Sky Max hub pretty well relies on 5GHz signals to talk to its extender pods which works well in homes with partition walls but less well in traditionally built British homes,
