Sky hub setup not successful on mysky app

I've tried setting up my new sky hub max. I scanned the QR code on the box and completed all the instructions but I'm stuck on the final stage a.k.a. where it says "were just running some final checks we'll let you know when setup is complete this could take up to 20 minutes some features will be unavailable until setup is complete". The setup isn't successful and keeps restarting until it tells us to call sky which I did. Customer service told me to do a hard reset which didn't help.

 

I have WiFi but now I don't have any of the hub controls I should have access to on the mysky app. I don't like that I paid all this money for features I didn't get. I've also tried uninstalling the app and hard resetting the hub using the WPS button on the side. 

 

I'm not sure how to fix or complete the hub setup.
