Sky has an obvious broadband problem

This is clearly a huge problem as it's affecting numerous people. I've been having issues since Tuesday and other than the usual switch off and on or similar on that theme I get no help at all despite telling Sky that this is clearly a bigger problem. I got upgraded broadband a few months ago but this issue is from the past week and clearly is not isolated. Abhorrent customer service just repeating the same suggestions which clearly are not fixing the issue.

I’m having the same issue. I’ve been trying to finish my work at 00:18, but I keep getting no wifi. Sky says there’s no issue, but I’ve tried everything, but nothing works!

Update

I found the issue. It was my VPN. Delete it and check if you’re having the problem as I am.

Good luck, bye.

Thanks for the reply. Definitely something else. After 6 calls they are finally sending me a new router which I requested on my first call!!

Sky supplies six million addresses with broadband: on that kind of scale at any particular point in time thousands of Openreach circuits across the country are going to be faulty, as are multiple individual routers.

For every million subscription households a 99.9% success rate is 1000 unhappy ones.

Re: Sky has an obvious broadband problem

It shouldn't take 6 calls (so far) to try and get the issue resolved. The number of people taking the time to write on this forum suggests it's more than just the kind of issue you mention but thanks for the rather patronising response.

Not at all, and most such posts are out of date in a couple of days anyway when those individual circuit failures get fixed.  The rare area outages and even more infrequent national problems very rapidly generate multi-page threads.

Ongoing issues such as Max Hub WiFi are different to internet connection itself.

@Foxglovevhg

You can take the broadband,, the Sky+, Sky Q and Mobile boards and the vast majority of posts are from customers with a problem. That's the nature of the boards and the main reason customers first visit the Community.

A new Community user has no reason to join up to say their service is working brilliantly.
