Sky Wifi dropping and low range

Hi everyone,

I’ve recently moved back to Sky Broadband from Plusnet on the Gigafast 900Mb package, but the performance has been incredibly poor compared to my old provider.

The Setup & Issues:

  • Hardware: Using the new Sky Max Hub (placed in the exact same location as my previous Plusnet router and an older Sky box, which both worked perfectly).

  • The Problem: Terrible signal reach and wildly fluctuating speeds across the house. Downloads are bouncing anywhere between 2Mb and 100Mb (on a 900Mb line).

  • Stability: The connection drops on a regular basis, making working from home almost impossible.

  • Devices: This is happening across all devices, including both Windows and Mac.

I wanted to log into the router to check the wireless channels and see what's happening, but the hub seems locked down compared to older models.

Has anyone else experienced this with the new 900Mb hubs, and any ideas on how to resolve it?

Thanks in advance!

@Dobbo007

A poor signal in certain rooms is something that can cause this so try going through this to see if it helps:

If not and if you have Wi-Fi Max on your account then Sky will loan up to 3 pods as you can read about here:

https://www.sky.com/help/articles/sky-wifi-max

So you can either call them on 150 from a landline phone or a mobile that has a Sky sim in it or Select "No, I still need help" at the bottom on the above link.
