Sky Max POD Ethernet Connection
I've just upgraded to Sky Max, and have one Sky Max pod in the bedroom. I note in the instructions it says do not connect the pod to an Ethernet cable that runs externally from your property? This is how I previously connected an external camera, to the older Sky booster in the bedroom. Can anyone tell me why this is a no no on the new Pod? Is it a security/network risk?

Re: Sky Max POD Ethernet Connection
I can't think of a technical reason why there would be a difference between an internal and an external device. Certainly there's a theoretical security issue because a laptop connected to the end of an external cable is automatically 'inside' the network perimeter, but in practice that's very unlikely to be a real vulnerability.

Yes my thoughts too, maybe it's just a cover all statement to protect Sky? Just struck me as odd!
