A week or two ago my girlfriend's OLD tablet completely lost wifi and so did my Pi4. After a lot of troubleshooting I noticed my Pi4 would not use the upper channels on 5Ghz, 149+, and surprise surprise, the router had auto assigned the 5ghz channel at 149.
So I re-enabled the 2Ghz on the router (which I turned off because none of my devices used it) and the connection returned. I assume the tablet and Pi hadn't updated to use the new-er high band channels on their respective GB WLAN setting.
Cut to right now, the router just reset itself at 1am-ish and the 5ghz has gone back down to channel 44, and the Pi4 and tablet can use 5Ghz again. I wonder if Sky have had complaints from users that devices couldn't connect and pushed an update?
Has anyone else had this issue in the UK with Sky or other ISPs. I hope this switch to channel 44 is a fix and not something that's going to switch back to channel 149 at some random point in the future...
