Sky Fibre FTTP

Just had the to property fibre installed. Always been using third party Routers as quite frankly, Skys are always years behind. This years router is like my 7 year old netgear that now just a roof extender.
2 issues as they now lock down everything to a family of devices. Sky Hub can't bridge but can replace with a better one.

the questions

1. Can the hub be installed as a secondary device via ethernet as the VOIP is required.
2. or does Sky have an open VOIP service for a Internet phone connection.
I just don't want to use the hub due to massive limitation compare to what I've been doing for 7+ years.

The Sky Hub has to be the primary router for Sky Talk Internet Calls to function
