Sky Booster (SE210) Ethernet Port Issue
Hello
Has anyone experienced a Sky Booster (SE210) suffering ethernet port issues?
After step-by-step fault finding (isolating the offending device) connected to my Netgear switch, it turned out to be the Sky Booster that was the culprit knocking out all of the switch ports.
I rebooted the Sky Booster and everything returned back to normal with all the switch ports back up and working again.
Do you think this may be an early warning of a failing booster or just one of those things that can happen from time to time? The Sky Booster is 3 years old and is on version 3.03.0500.R
Note: The Sky Hub (SR203) was working perfectly at the time of the Sky Booster ethernet port issue.
Many thanks

Re: Sky Booster (SE210) Ethernet Port Issue
@THX1138 Next time or if it happens just disconnect the Ethernet cable to the SE210, give it a minute then plug it back in, always hard to say when something hangs up to which device is causing the potential problem, if the out/in clears the issue it may be your switch that hung up but you have the choice off the two, never had an issue with my SE210 when i used it, don't think it has been FW updated in a long time, but the SR203 was June off this year!

Re: Sky Booster (SE210) Ethernet Port Issue
@JimM1 many thnaks for the reply.
I think on this occasion it was the SE210 booster at fault.
- I first cycled the Switch off & on – no fix, all ports still dead
- I then disconnected all the RJ45’s on the Switch and plugged in just one RJ45 connecting my laptop to the switch – this worked fine
- I then plugged in each of the other 7 RJ45’s in turn, which all worked fine, until I plugged in the RJ45 that goes to the SE210 booster. Plugging in the SE210 booster took down all 8 of the Switch ports – unplugged the SE210 again and all ports came back to life.
- Rebooted the SE210 booster and so far, all is good.
If it happens again, I’ll request a new replacement SE210 from Sky.
Cheers

Re: Sky Booster (SE210) Ethernet Port Issue
@THX1138 Very concise and logical way off doing it, have never known an Ethernet port to clamp the other seven, assume all the lights when out on the switch as indicating to you? And from your testing sure looking that the SE210 was bad Ethernet wise, the web manager to the SE210 does not really give much info, maybe if you look at it's web IP when working as a wireless connection you may see something!

Re: Sky Booster (SE210) Ethernet Port Issue
@THX1138 ehat type of switch do you have as Sky Q kit including yhe SE210 do not play nicely with some managed ethernetvswitches.

Re: Sky Booster (SE210) Ethernet Port Issue
@THX1138 Certainly unmanaged with 8 Gb/s and one 10Gb/s interface, and as you say been good, are you just using the SE210 as a wireless bridge to connect back to the sky Hub?

Re: Sky Booster (SE210) Ethernet Port Issue
@JimM1 not too sure regards 'a wireless bridge'?
I use the SE210 booster in a location far away from the SR203 Hub. There is no reliable Wi-Fi communication between the two devices due to distance from each other and wall obstructions.
Within the booster area, I primarily use it for Wi-Fi only devices e.g., mobile phones for Wi-Fi calling. All other devices in the booster area are connected back to the Hub via the Netgear switch over CAT6.
