Setting up sky max hub on activation day

Hoping someone can help - just changed across to sky bb this morning, from BT. Plugged everything in as instructed and the hub has sat with a red light for about an hour now. Does it take time to set up or could there be something else wrong ? I'm FTTP, if that makes any difference. Thanks
