Set up guide for Sky Max Hub with ASUS ZenWiFi AX XT8 nodes

Hi All,

I am looking to move from another provider to Sky Full Fibre 500 with the Sky Max Hub.

In my current set up (not Sky) I use a pair of ASUS ZenWiFi AX XT8 nodes.

I just wanted to check that the ASUS XT8 system will work with the Sky Max Hub.

Whilst there are a few discussions on the XT8 on this site I could not find a simple set up guide with all the required settings etc.

At the moment I only have a master phone socket to plug into – I don’t know if a different outlet is required to ‘install’ the Sky Max Hub.

Do I replace the Sky Max Hub with the ASUS ZenWiFi AX XT8 system or are both items required?

If I decide to subscribe to Sky Stream – does this change anything in the set up?

Can anyone provide a simple installation / set up guide?

Many thanks.

@OntheEdge

If you are getting the FTTP service, you can connect the Asus XT8 directly to ONT, but you will lose the Sky phone VoIP service which may be unacceptable. When connecting to the XT8 directly to ONT the. select automatic DHCP and fill in the fields for DHCP Option 61 to 'anything@skydsl|antrging' without the single quotes. For DHCPv6 select DHCPv6 PD. The frequency of getting the DHCP Option 61 should be normal. The main XT8 connected to the ONT should be in router mode and all other units in access point mode.

If you are setting up an Asus XT8 system to the Sky router LAN port then you only need tp setup the Asus XT8 into access point mode and they will work on the main router and any nodes.
