Router connectivity issues

I upgraded my broadband to fibre and received the latest router from Sky. Since then, I've had connectivity issues with some devices, like wifi thermostats, and most importantly, the connection to my solar power system via the wifi dongle to the Solar Inverter, which controls the solar system and connects to the solar control App. I have spent hundreds of pounds troubleshooting this with a qualified solar installer, without success!

We now believe the new Sky router is the source of the problem, as my solar system was working normally until I upgraded my broadband and changed the signal.

As a solution, Sky support advised I shut down the 5Ghz signal in the router as it might be causing a conflict with the 2.5Ghz signal on all the devices which operate on that frequency. I have done this, but my Solar Inverter will still not maintain connectivity to my router.

Since February, my solar system has not been working properly, and the connectivity issue is very, very, very expensively unresolved!

Re: Router connectivity issues

@BPDVLC Would have been helpful, as you would appear to have a Sky Max white hub, do you also have the subscription addon service to get a free pod, looking like it will be more of a weak wireless wi-fi issue getting the signal where it needs to be. All the sky max info is linked below for you.

Re: Router connectivity issues

@BPDVLC You may also have to look with the app at the wireless setting's and adjust the wpa3 to wpa2-psk to lower for any older devices, newer hub and the white Sky Max is way up there leads to other complications....

Re: Router connectivity issues

Thanks, I also should have said in my original post that I reduced the security to to the minimum - WPA2.

Re: Router connectivity issues

Many thanks for sharing those links and troubleshooting advice. I'll also contact Sky to replace the router.

Re: Router connectivity issues

@BPDVLC What hub do you have from sky, do not jump the gun, when you get a FF install the put the new ONT box on and it may just not be the most suitable place for the hub to be, see the link below to hub types and let us know.
