Router Overheated

I noticed the wifi stopped working, checked router and it was roasting to touch.

Turned off the power, and let it to cool down for 1 hour. Tried to power it back up and the power light is flashing orange. Left it for 10mins, nothing changed. Attempted to reset via button on back (pushed in for 10secs), left it for another 10mins and power is still flashing orange.

Will I need a new broadband sent out? I need this sorted asap.

Re: Router Overheated

Yes, sounds like....

.

It’s well known in IT circles that if a device's electronics are getting borderline, it’s when you turn it off, let it cool down and then try to restart it, that it blows.  Same principle as the old incandescent light bulbs blowing when you first turned them on.
