Re: Ring door bell
Hello @Derek1282
Wi-fi coverage is the most common issue that customers have with broadband, Sky or any other supplier.
Have you recently changed you broadband / router or is it just that you have purchased the Ring doorbell?
There are online tools to check the Sky router / wifi performance if you log into your Sky account. This should probably be your first action to see if there are any issues detected. These are also available via the MySky app if you have it on your mobile phone.
Depending on your contract with Sky, they may loan (I believe at a monthly charge) up to 3 boosters to increase/improve the wi-fi coverage of your home. I haven't any experience of this but plenty of other forum members have and would be able to advise about these in more detail.
Personally, we had wifi black spots in our bungalow as the broadband comes in at the front and a single router does not give wifi coverage to rooms at the rear (and we couldnt re-locate the router). I decide to take it under our control and purchase a Mesh wifi solution and not rely on the Sky router (and TalkTalk previously). This involves additional cost to purchase the Mesh devices but the advantage is you are in total control and changing to a different supplier is very easy to manage.
Good luck with whatever solution you decide on.
