For the last few weeks I'm having big issues with Wi-fi in the house. My router is in a cupboard (I'm working on changing this) as BT thought it would be a good idea to put it in there. I tried an Eero mesh to extend my wifi in he house and garden for the summer but that was causing some issues. I have disconnected all of them now but I am now having more issues.
I have a CAT 6 cable running from the openreach box, out of the hosue, alongf the wall and back in that then goes in to a TP LInk swithc box. From that I have SKy Q and PS5 connected. My PS5 is cabled but I was getting issues with that as well so I have changed the CAT5 cable to CAT 6 and this has helped a lot. Cabled connections are now all ok.
It's the Wifi that has issues. All my Alexa devices are always disconnected when I wake up in the morning and my phone disconnects all the time, especially when I go upstairs. I've tried keeping the door of the cupboard open to improve signal and that help for a while but then same issue.
I am looking to get the box out of the cupboard and in to the lounge but am also looking to replace the router. Does anyone have instructions of how to do this if I was to choose an Asus routher? I'm guessing I need to keep the sky routher connected as well or can I just replace it?
Would any of the above cause wi-fi issues and should I change anything???
