Renew contract without choosing a new package.

Is there a way to renew your current contract without having to move over to 'full fibre' package. Im happy with the one i have which is only the 80Mb 'superfast' but does my needs and usage just fine wothout issue. Moving over to a new one would mean engineer visits , new wires, new box , new socket.

Yes you can at the moment but broadband via non fibre means is being phased out. Remember that renewing will be another 24 month commitment.

And there might well be better pricing available on FTTP because ISPs are being incentivised by the national network owner to encourage users to move away from legacy copper circuits.

Its not bad as you think. No need for extra drilling...just remove the old phone cables/socket on the day engineer arrives and fit the new interior wall socket on the same posistion if there is a power socket nearby.

If you have the Sky black router then that be also reused.

@Sayek Sometimes it's just not that simple an operation and trust me, you don't want to be disconnecting your FTTC connection until you are 100% sure that the Fibre is up and worrking well.

@Sssmmm90 the switch from your current partial fibre service to full fibre is inevitable at some point. Whether you can in fact agree a new fixed term contract is down to where your exchange is in the swich over programme. On some exchanges Openreach will not acceot new partial fibre order from Sky which a new fixed term contact generates. if you enter your full address into this checker Openreach Checker It will give details of whether your exchange requires the swich over now and what type of installation is expected. If you want help in understanding the output post the full table and first three lines of the notes after obscuring the reference to your address as a screenshot.

While the suggestion from @Sayek is not one I would recommend as while it might work there is a significant risk it would result you being left without a service while Openreach sort the fibre feed. In most cases the swich over is painless and even when things get complicated and delayed as they did with my install i kept connectivity during the whole process.

The engineers were polite helpful and we discussed where I wanted the new service to enter the property and they fitted their small external csp box, drilled the entery hole ran the fibre cable  and fitted the new ONT unit that replaces the phone socket neatly. The entry point has a plastic fitting internally and externally which is weather proof and neat. They made good where they had cut a channel across a path to run the fibre feed.

@JimM1 Thats true. I removed my Virgin Media cables when Openreach arrived at the property. The engineer did warn me that he can't gurantee 100% the service would be operation before he leave the property.. I took the risk to avoid more drilling and cables.
