Re: WhatsApp message received - broadband upgrade

Me too.

Great news. Your home is now eligible for Full Fibre. It's the UK's most reliable broadband technology, giving you faster speeds and fewer dropouts. And as a Sky VIP, we'd like to move you over to Full Fibre at no extra cost and no change to your current broadband contract.

We've made a provisional booking for an engineer on 30/12/2024 to carry out the installation at your home, postcode ending ***. You can change this date if you need to, we'll share details on how to do this soon.

To proceed, please reply "yes".

To cancel, please reply "no".

If you have either a care alarm or your mobile phone has poor signal in your home, please do not proceed as Full Fibre broadband may not be the best option for you. By agreeing to this you're confirming you're the main account holder.

No sign of anything on my Sky account. I'm not convinced that it's genuine...

@kenrobertson

The reply needs to be in WhatsApp, not this forum.

Re: WhatsApp message received - broadband upgrade

Where did you get this information/link?

I have had the same message but can't find anything online account/social media ot Internet.

Surely this would be more advertised?

So many scams, and never received a message on whatsapp from them before.

I have had an email about the upgrade but no where in that email does it state the upgrade is free.

From Sky.  It's all part of the project to replace the antique copper phone network with optical circuits, because while FTTP is now within reach of a significant percentage of UK addresses, actual uptake is much lower.  There's typically no installation cost to the resident because Openreach has a budget of a couple of thousand pounds per address to get cable inside the property.
