Re: New router

I was upgraded to fibre (late to the party) and the router had to be relocated.  I have struggled every day for connection. I only have one phone and one laptop and its hopeless.  I feel as though 1990 has reappeared.

@Notoriously_BIG

A poor signal in certain rooms is something that can cause this so try going through this to see if it helps:

https://www.sky.com/help/broadband/my-broadband-speed/improving-wi-fi-signal-to-my-devices/articles/...

If not and if you have Wi-Fi Max on your account then Sky will loan up to 3 pods as you can read about here:

https://www.sky.com/help/articles/sky-wifi-max

So you can either call them on 150 from a landline phone or a mobile that has a Sky sim in it or Select "No, I still need help" at the bottom on the above link.

Alternatives are homeplugs or your own mesh network.

Re: New router

It may also be worth being aware that you can have up to 100m of Cat 5e/Cat 6 ethernet cable between the router and the ONT.  The router does not need to be right next to the ONT.

(ONT...Optical Network Terminal, the box CityFibre or Openreach put on the wall).
