Re: Problems with new IP6 I need this disablef
@Mary- because IP6 is central to the architecture of Sky's network. IP4 has huge issues not least the fact the supply of addresses is exhausted so network operators like Sky have to share public IP addresses across multiple customers so there are enough to go around. By default the white Sky Max hub use a methood called MAP-T where 8 customers share a single IP4 address but each has a unique IP6 address. The internet has outgrown IP4 even with the various work rounds like Network Address translation etc as orginally planned IP4 would be history by now but people have been reluctant to adopt IP6 which while the adresses look scary is actually simpler.
Thecswitch to IP6 is inevitable at some pointvand modern apps and operating systems support the system so as a user you should not need to ever use the actual addresses. There are a few issues with Sky's system of address sharing mainly around company vpns and VOIP apps so there are workrounds.
