Problems moving from Now to Sky

My contract with Now Broadband was nearly up which I had an email about. I phoned the number in that email to renew and spoke to a Sky rep who offered a good deal for landline, broadband and Sky TV which I accepted. However they did not port my landline number across so I now have a new one so nobody is able to contact me. I've spoken to various people at Sky who have given me multiple reasons, including that Now and Sky are not connected and that BT Openreach have changed my number. I've changed providers many times in the past and have never lost my landline number. Ofcom's website says this should not happen too. What can I do?

@Bobbles1 It's not always possible to transfer your number across as per this link https://www.sky.com/help/articles/switching-broadband-provider-switch-to-sky

Like you I'm a customer here, Sky Employees are clearly identified as such.

Re: Problems moving from Now to Sky

@GD1 Thanks for your reply. I just would have thought the rep I spoke to would have told me this might happen. The first I knew was when I logged into my Sky account and saw a number I didn't recognise. I imagine I will now have to try to inform all my contacts of this change which is pretty annoying when I wasn't warned.
