Poor WiFi upstairs

I contacted Sky a while ago, with regards to my Wi-Fi signal dropping. They sent me a new , Sky Q router. The signal doesn't drp anymore, but the signal upstairs, is poor. I contacted them about this and asked asked about a Wi-Fi booster. They checked everything, and it seemed I had an old router.l They said to have the signal boosted, it would have to be added to my contract, at an extra £1 a month. Instead of sending me a booster which I thought would go in the bedroom, they sent a completely different router, but when I stream anything, it still buffers. Any advice would be great.

That would be correct: they'd have swapped the Q Hub for a Sky Broadband Hub through the Broadband Boost supplement.

Sky loans wireless booster hardware free under the terms of the 'WiFi Guarantee' element of 'Broadband Boost' and the 'Enhanced Wall to Wall WiFi Guarantee' part of the 'WiFi Max' subscription supplement: they don't otherwise provide or sell them except to resolve issues with Sky Q. Inevitably some have leaked onto a certain auction site, but Sky won't offer support with using these.

Confusingly the 'Wall to Wall WiFi Guarantee' doesn't actually provide booster hardware, and is essentially a sales lead generator for the supplements mentioned above.

Re: Poor WiFi upstairs

So, I'm paying for something that doesn't do what it says on the tin. When I had the old router, I  used a WiFi extended, and could get WiFi upstairs, when it didn't drop altogether.
