Poor Speed to hub

Have been having problem with downloads for last 4 days. Sky Broadband checker says 'poor speed to hub'. In this case 20Mb/s when the adverised minimum is 50Mb/s here. Downloading from Steam is giving me times of 1 day + for completion! I contacted Sky Help this evening and the result line testing by themselves and third party options is they will be sending me a new hub. I'm no expert, but surely a new hub is still going to be receiving 'Poor Speed'?

Any thoughts on this?

Thanks in advance. 🙂

Re: Poor Speed to hub

Hi Chrisee,

Thanks for getting back to me.

Followed instructions to the letter....got to router page ...but cannot open Maintance Tab.....won't accept my Username and/or Password. I am using the Wireless Name and Password on the card supplied with the router. I haven't changed these , they are what I signed in with when I re-installed Windows 10 some nights ago with no problem.

Regards,

Melaine

You require the admin password, not the wifi one. Should be on the rear of the hub..

Re: Poor Speed to hub

Hi, I've had the same. Apparently if you have their black router then a new one makes no difference. What does is having an engineer to install full fibre cables to the house, but be prepared to wait time delayed and quoted was a month!
