Part Fibre Sky Broadband

We have received this text saying they are from Sky (but it is just a plain mobile number) saying the broadband network in our area is being upgraded as part of the national copper switchoff.  We're offering this switch to Parkt Fibre - Sky Broadband Superfast at no extra cost and with change to your broadband contract ensuring no disuption to your current Broadband and Talk Service.

Is this legitimate text - or a scam?   I have tried as in the text to search for more information on the website but the website is so confusing and I cannot find what I need.

It would be lovely to speak to a human being rather than going round and round with your automated lady. Very frustrating. Please can you advise,

Same text and I've agreed to the upgrade. Now showing in my orders for the 15th June.

Re: Part Fibre Sky Broadband

It sounds legitimate to me, but Part Fibre aka FTTC isnt generally used as much now as is being replaced with FTTP full fibre, if youre unsure then just call up Sky and ask them and im sure theyll be able to explain. Im guessing youre on copper ADSL at the moment ?

Posted by a Superuser, not a Sky employee. Find out more

@lisafox  Can ypu post the results from here https://www.broadbandchecker.btwholesale.com/#/ADSL/AddressHome  remove any address/cabinet data

ADSL is copper all the way from the exchange to the Home (although it will be via a cabinet distribution point)

FTTC is Fibre to the Cabinet and copper from there to the home.

FTTP is full fibre from the exchange to the property.

Like you I'm a customer here, Sky Employees are clearly identified as such.

Re: Part Fibre Sky Broadband

FTTC is what I'm having installed on the 15th so I'm presuming I've got copper to the cabinet now.
