Rather than use a WiFi connection, I've always connected my ps5 to the Internet (sky broadband) via an ethernet cable into my sky q box for better speeds and less lag.
Today the connection stopped and won't reconnect. I've reset the router, reset the sky q box and the network connection between the box and router.
All appears okay, Internet is fine. Sky q box is fine, can get the ps5 online via hot-spot or WiFi (slower speeds) but when I try to connect via LAN on the ps5 it says 'can't obtain an IP address within the time limit'
Any ideas on how to fix would be appreciated?

Posted by a Superuser, not a Sky employee. Find out more@Curbmyenthusiam there is no point in connecting to the Q box's ethernet port. The tv boxes are not designed to act as a wifi bridge and even if it worked you would still get lag etc as the Q box is connected by WIFi. While direct Ethernet cables to the Sky hub will cut latency and improve stability it has to be a direct connection. If that is impossible look into using a powerline networking kit that uses your home's mains wiring to carry the data which is often better than WiFi.
