Openreach

Hi, just had sky glass delivered and was having the broadband connected on the 29th Apr. I now have a text saying my new install date is 13th May which is absolutely no good as I work from home and need it. Openreach dont take calls and Sky fobbed me off. Who can I speak to?

Re: Openreach

@KevClow74 As your contract is with sky, then they are the only people you can speak to.

@KevClow74

Sky can't influence Openreach over the time period for activation. Also remember that Sky broadband is a domestic service so although fine for customers who work from home it brings no extra or quicker support.

Re: Openreach

I wouldn't hold your breath when it comes to OpenReach. We have been waiting since last September for fibre to be connected to the property. Had 6 cancelled installation dates umpteen phone calls, all with different reasons why it hasn't happened. Currently scheduled for end of June.

Re: Openreach

Sounds like a pain in the rear. I am also expecting Openreach to install a new line from the street pole on 29th April. Dreading a text message like yours.

I also work from home most days and have 2 boys preparing for school exams so can't afford without internet. I gave notice to Virgin Media to end service on 15th May so a bit of overlapping safety.

Like others have mentioned..if Openreach change the date you can't really do much.

Openreach is attempting to carry out more than 80,000 new FTTP installations each week to meet the national target date (currently December 2026) for 85% coverage: unfortunately it's inevitable that some won't go smoothly.
