Following the recent bad weather the overhead cable outside my house has sagged down. I called Openreach and they said it would need to be retensioned and to call my provider (Sky) to request an engineer. I did that some time ago and have heard nothing back. Any ideas about what I should do next. If the cable falls on my car or a passer by I imagine legal action would follow.

Thanks Daniel. I did just that and an Openreach engineer came out. He basically agreed it needed to be retensioned although thought it unlikely to fall on anyone. I’m just a bit anxious about parking under it with it being so low over my drive. Sky said I ought to hear something back within 72hrs but that has long since passed. I really didn’t want to have to go through the whole customer service experience again but may have to.

Posted by a Superuser, not a Sky employee. Find out moreYou've done the right thing and if an Openreach engineer didn't think it was dangerous or a safety concern that's down to them. Not sure why the engineer couldn't fix it or at least undertake a temporary solution.

Thanks Daniel. I guess I will just have to endure the Sky customer service automated queuing system again in order to resolve this. In the meantime, if my car gets damaged I will be claiming against Sky / Openreach as they are fully aware of the sitation.

Thanks Daniel. Fortunately, I am a lawyer so fully aware of options. Thanks though.
