Openreach Nightmare

I am the son of the account holder as my 75 year old mother struggles with technology. Openreach did works in the area this morning and she has no landline or broadband. Why is it so difficult to get someone to fix this problem? The box has been unplugged and the light is static orange and therefore the fault clearly is outside the property. I need an engineer to come  and fix the fault they created. The whole system discriminates against the elderly and may as well just go to Virgin as Openreach who control all the other lines are a complete joke. On an endless phone queue now being passed from pillar to post.Got through to Leeds eventually and they couldn't hear me due to a bad line. Need and engineer to come and fix the problem and I need this done via writing.

@Mercury

Are you able to run these tests to see if a fault is found:
https://www.sky.com/help/articles/broadband-diagnostic-start

You can also run the test via the MySky app on a mobile data connection.

After this has finished and if it reports back all is good click on broadband to run an updated test. If you get amber or red please follow the on screen instructions.

If this is of no help give Sky a call to report it to them.
