ONT not working

Hi, I just moved in, and ordered full firbe. After the activation date being postponed from 17 to 22 Sept,, and an engineer is sent to drill the wall next Tuesday, I realised I need to check my ONT, which is not powered..  May I know how to turn on the ONT?

@Ada2046 If an engineer is being sent it is likely Sky will not be using the Openreach connection. Where a property has access to a City Fibre connection Sky will always use thst in preference to Openreach even where there is an existing Openreach full, fibre connection.

Re: ONT not working

Hi, thanks for your reply.  It's very confusing, as when I paid and ordered, it was mentioned no engineer needed. I was asked to book for an Openreach engineer on behalf of Sky yesterday, and I talked to the customer service of Sky this morning, they said the Openreach will bring with the power code and make sure the ONT is working...

On behalf of Sky.... but not Sky...

very poor impression of Sky before everything is activated..

Yes thats totally normal. ISPs do not send their own engineers when the install/problem relates to Openreach kit. Openreach will attend and either replace the ONT or provide a power cable. When moving home people are not supposed to take the power cable for the ONT but they often do.

Re: ONT not working

Great, thanks.  That make sense.  I found a power code in the house, but it seems like not for the purpose.  The message from the Openreach is confusing too... saying need to make decision on drilling the wall... which will take 3 hours... bla bla bla... I hope providing the power code can solve the problem immediately.

I couldn't work on that morning then... what a pity...

It is strange that they are sending those messages but best to keep the appointment and talk to the engineer about it when they arrive.

The wording on more recent models suggests Openreach recognised it made a rather silly mistake with the previous version.
