I have no internet connection and on checking there is a solid red light on the ONT box. I have rebooted the box but still the same. Can someone please advise and or initiate a repair as I have great need for use of internet this evening.

Unfortunately that's very unlikely to happen. LOS is Loss Of Signal and indicates there's no light coming down the optical cable, and needs logging as a fault with Sky for investigation by Openreach.
Openreach target time to fix is within two working days from tomorrow morning.
