@Stevie_68

Try running this line test to see if it finds any faults:
https://www.sky.com/help/articles/broadband-diagnostic-start

You can also run the test via the MySky app on a mobile data connection.

After this has finished and if it reports back all is good click on broadband to run an updated test. If you get amber or red please follow the on screen instructions.

If this is of no help give Sky a call to report it to them.

Re: No wifi

New build property so not landline just white box, my neighbour is on Sky too and his outside box is about 3ft away from mine. Would that affect it ? He says he loses signal too, we live in small village close to Ayr but out in sticks but not too far. Our Amazon firestick is brand new also

Re: No wifi

@Stevie_68 Kilwinning man myself, the box on the wall is a OR Openreach ONT that is the Fibre Modem to Ethernet connection for the wan/lan of the sky Hub if you are on a Full Fibre connection It will have 3 Green LED's on that wall box, what hub do you have from sky, the white sky Max, or the black sky Broadband hub, link below if you take a look!

Re: No wifi

@Stevie_68 Can you also say if you are on the Full Fibre connection with your new build, the box on the wall if that is an ONT will have three green lights, Power and Pon will be solid green, the Lan will flash with data back forth between the ONT/Sky Max hub!

Re: No wifi

@Stevie_68 To answer the sky Max, it has a single SSID, that is the name for your connection, it combines the 2.4Ghz and the 5Ghz into that one name, so the devices workout what and were to go as required, that sky Max hub unfortunate is as tight as a duck's you know what!

It cannot be seperated like the older black hub.

With the sky Max you can do with your app, back off the wireless securities, they come as WPA3-T and WPA2-PSK is/can be a better option!

See the link below to the help about that!

Sky Max change settings link.
https://www.sky.com/help/articles/change-wifi-max-hub-settings-a

Will view your picture when it get's cleared, takes one off the superusers to check and do that!

Viewed your picture you are on a Full Fibre connection so that is good!

Re: No wifi

@Stevie_68 So i am on the sky FF500 package with that exact same Nokia ONT that you have, I do not use the sky supplied SR203 Black hub any more, retired it back to it's box, but for the six weeks i had it on checking it just NEVER missed a beat, was good honest true hub, same as i had from 2019 to 2023, before a EE 1 year nightmare! The sky Max has a lot off mixed reviews, would not have one myself as it is far to tied up to sky, accounts and you have to use that MySky mobile app to do anything at all with it!

That said, when you are buffering is it more so a TV type issue, and time specific, during peak times the BB can slow a little, and yes your neighbours position off there hub can be interfering with your's, but that is a hard one to pin down, so in general does the broadband cover what you need signal wise through your home, the further you get away from the hub, the slower the speed will get that's a good way off finding out!
